In his role as chair of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops' Committee on International Justice and Peace, Bishop Richard Pates encouraged our senators to maintain aid to Palestinians. "Assistance to Palestinians, already heavily conditioned, is essential for humanitarian purposes and for building capacity for a future Palestinian state," he wrote.
